Match details
On a gloomy over cast Saturday morning with the constant threat of rain MCC welcomed back to the side long serving members Cam Thomas and Sanjay Dhar returning after a 12 years absence. A tactical loss of the toss saw MCC take to the field against the old enemy from Beaverton.

With angry fast bowler Anitori having a week off the skipper turned to the feared pace tandem of Nishant and Jones!!!!!! The duo in an effort to set the tone for the day proceeded to produce economical opening spells while ripping through BCC's top order. So it was that after 8 overs Jonesy had claimed the top 3 scalps (with help from catches from Jay and Shuaib) finishing 4-15-3. As par for the course we had also managed to give a couple of lives...

Once Jay had claimed a wicket caught behind by Cam, Nish and Zafar proceeded to bog the batsmen down with a mixture of twirly wurly lollipops and smart fielding. Nish (4-14-1) eventually claimed a deserved wicket after a sharp catch at midwicket by Pohlod who also affected 2 run outs. Mike you will be missed this summer - see you next year.

Shuaib came on the to finish off the innings with 2 quick over's as we tried to up the over rate and avoid penalties. The team was rightly pleased with itself having restricted BCC to 111-7 off their 20 overs. No problem for our talented batting line up right?!!!!!

Exactly. Zafar and Nish after a tentative start (Zafar being dropped 1st ball) accelerated the scoring. Zafar being particularly punishing to the opening bowler, distainly knocking him out of the attack with 18 from one over. Nish fell with the score on 36. This brought Shuaib to the crease and the touch paper was really lit. BCC had no answer as these two cruised MCC past the total off only 15.1 overs with some devastating power hitting.

Zafar finished with his third successive 50 (55 off 35 balls) with Shuaib contributing an entertaining run-a-ball 25. The win keeps us on course to qualify or the 20twenty play-offs. The boys naturally retired to McMenamins to celebrate over lunch somewhere in deepest darkest Gresham. If anyone sees George let him know how to get home.
