Multnomah Cricket Club

A brief history of MCC.

MCC was founded in 1986 and was originally known as Lake Oswego Cricket Club. The main aim of the club at the time it was founded was to promote the game of cricket in the Pacific Northwest. Over the past 15 years, MCC has grown not only its membership, but also the various countries represented has increased substantially. MCC now boasts of members from more than 12 cricket playing countries, including the United States.  MCC is a founding member of the Oregon Cricket League, a five team league made up of Oregon cricket teams. MCC is also an inactive member of the premier cricket league of the Pacific Northwest,  NWCL (www.nwcl.org).  This site is a tribute not only to Multnomah Cricket Club but also to the glorious game of cricket.

MCC aims to provide a balance between social & league cricket, creating opportunities for all levels of play. Being part of the OCL provides MCC an opportunity to play competitive-level cricket with other clubs from Oregon. MCC members also play socially within the club and are involved in a variety of events such as charity matches, barbecues, social nights out, beach cricket and trips to Canada every labour day.

MCC has also been actively involved in teaching the game of cricket to grade school and middle school students at the local public schools in order to live up to its original goal of fostering and growing the sport of cricket in the area.

MCC is comprised of members with varying degrees of cricketing skills. However, there is one thing that everyone shares - a love for the game, and enthusiasm to see the sport grow, especially in this part of the world. MCC is proud to be truly a global community, with members from the USA, India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa. Whether you are a newcomer to the sport, or want to play competitively, there's always a place for you in our club.
